President Bola Tinubu has instructed Nigeria’s newly appointed ambassadors and high commissioners to aggressively pursue foreign investments while projecting a stronger national image abroad.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, Tinubu highlighted global challenges such as economic instability, shifting alliances, climate concerns and technological disruptions, noting that diplomacy must now deliver measurable results.
He urged the envoys to embrace modern diplomatic tools, including digital engagement and strategic communication, while actively promoting Nigeria as an attractive destination for investment and innovation.
A key policy announcement was the restructuring of Nigeria’s 4D foreign policy doctrine. The administration has reordered its priorities to Demography, Development, Diaspora and Democracy, placing Nigerians at the centre of international engagements.
The President further called for integrity, accountability and professionalism, urging the envoys to remain focused on delivering results that will enhance Nigeria’s global relevance and economic standing.
He concluded by encouraging full participation in the training programme, stressing that the world is watching Nigeria’s diplomatic approach and expecting meaningful impact.
